This is the second of two indexes that Swedenborg assembled as he worked on "Arcana Coelestia". This was done as a fair copy of the first index, but it is not complete. Rather, it covers only volumes 1 and 2 of the eight total Latin volumes that were printed. This index, and its predecessor, are similar to the index translated and edited by James Hyde, but different, too, in important ways. Please see the preface for details.

As we was writing Arcana Coelestia, Swedenborg made an Index -- actually two indexes - a rough draft of one for the whole work, and and this one - a fair copy manuscript, left uncompleted - covering the first two volumes of the 8-volume work.
