Indodana, yamsonga ngezingubo, yamlalisa emkhombeni, ngokuba yayingekho indawo yabo endlini yezihambi.

Ngokuphambene nomyalo wobukhosi kaKhesari Awugustu, othi “izwe lonke libhaliswe,” sinikezwa indaba elula kaMariya noJosefa ababefuna indawo yokuhlala eBhetlehema, kodwa abayitholanga. Isimo sesiqephu esilandelayo siyashintsha sisuka esitebeleni siye emaphandleni: “Kwakukhona abelusi kulelo zwe behlala endle, belinda umhlambi wabo ebusuku” (Luka 2:8). Ngaphezu kokuvikela izifunda zethu ezingenacala, ukulinda kuphinde kusisiza ukuba siqaphele imicabango emihle nemizwelo enomusa egeleza ivela kuNkulunkulu. Lokhu ukukhanya okunikezwayo sisabheke ukufika kweNkosi, ngisho nasezimweni zethu ezimnyama kakhulu. Njengoba kulotshiwe ukuthi: “Bheka, ingelosi yeNkosi yema phambi kwabo, nenkazimulo yeNkosi yakhanya nxazonke zabo.”Luka 2:9)

Ukukhanya okukhulu okwakhanya phezu kwabelusi kwakuhambisana nesimemezelo esimangalisayo: “Bhekani,” kusho ingelosi, “nginibikela izindaba ezinhle zentokozo enkulu eyakuba kubantu bonke”Luka 2:10).

Kodwa isimemezelo sengelosi simayelana nokufika kweNkosi ezimpilweni zethu. “Nginibikela izindaba ezinhle zenjabulo enkulu,” kusho ingelosi, “eyoba kubantu bonke.”

Isimemezelo esimangalisayo siyaqhubeka: “Ngokuba nizalelwe namuhla uMsindisi onguKristu iNkosi emzini kaDavide” (Luka 2:11).

Lena kwakuyindlela ukuzalwa kukaJesu okuyisimangaliso okwamenyezelwa ngayo kubelusi. Besabela, abelusi ngokushesha baya eBhetlehema beyovakashela uMariya, uJosefa, kanye noKristu-umntwana. Ukusabela kwabelusi kusikhumbuza iVangeli likaMarku, eligcwele umoya wobuvangeli nokumemezela. Ekupheleni kwalelovangeli abafundi “bahamba bashumayela ezindaweni zonke” (Marku 16:20), njengoba nje nabelusi benza eVangelini likaLuka: “Abelusi babuya, bekhazimulisa futhi bemdumisa uNkulunkulu ngakho konke ababekuzwile nababekubonile, njengoba nje kwakukhulunyiwe kubo” ( Joh.Luka 2:20).

Kodwa ngoMariya, kuhluke kakhulu. Esikhundleni sokuphuma ayoshumayela ivangeli, njengoba kwenza abelusi, uMariya uyathula, uyacabanga, futhi uyacabangisisa. Uzindla ngazo zonke lezi zinto enhliziyweni yakhe. Izenzo zakhe zimele indikimba esemqoka kuleli vangeli: ukuzindla, umcabango, kanye nokuthuthukiswa kokuqonda okujulile komoya.

USimeyoni no-Ana

20. Babuya abelusi, bemdumisa, bembonga uNkulunkulu ngakho konke ababekuzwile nabakubonile, njengalokho kwakukhulunyiwe kubo.

21 Kwathi seziphelile izinsuku eziyisishiyagalombili zokuba umntwana asokwe, igama lakhe lathiwa uJesu, ayelithiwa yingelosi, engakathathwa isisu.

22 Kwathi seziphelele izinsuku zokuhlanjululwa kwakhe ngokomthetho kaMose bamenyusela eJerusalema ukuba bamethule phambi kweNkosi;

23 njengokulotshiweyo emthethweni weNkosi ukuthi bonke abesilisa abavula isizalo bazabizwa ngokuthi bangcwele eNkosini;

24 nokunikela ngomhlatshelo njengokushiwo emthethweni weNkosi ukuthi: Amahobhe amabili noma amaphuphu amabili amajuba.

25 Bheka, kwakukhona eJerusalema umuntu ogama lakhe linguSimeyoni; lo muntu wayelungile, ehlakaniphile, elindele induduzo ka-Israyeli; noMoya oNgcwele wayephezu kwakhe.

26 Futhi waphendula ngoMoya oNgcwele ukuthi angaboni ukufa engakamboni uKristu weNkosi.

27 Wasengena ethempelini ngoMoya; kwathi abazali sebemlethile umntwana uJesu ukuba bamenzele ngokomthetho.

28. Waze wamamukela ezingalweni zakhe, wambonga uNkulunkulu, wathi:

29 “Manje uyayimukisa inceku yakho ngokuthula, Jehova, njengezwi lakho;

30. “Ngokuba amehlo ami abonile insindiso yakho;

31. “Owulungisileyo phambi kobuso babantu bonke;

32. “Ukukhanya kube ngukwambulelwa kwezizwe, nenkazimulo yabantu bakho u-Israyeli.”

33 UJosefa nonina bamangala ngalokho okwakhulunywa ngaye.

34 USimeyoni wababusisa, wathi kuMariya unina: “Bheka, lo umiselwe ukuwa nokuvuka kwabaningi kwa-Israyeli, nesibonakaliso esiyaphikiswa;

35. “Futhi nowakho inkemba iyakudabula umphefumulo wakho, ukuze kwambulwe imicabango yezinhliziyo eziningi.

36 Kwakukhona uAna umprofethikazi, indodakazi kaFanuweli, owesizwe sika-Asheri; wayesekhulile izinsuku eziningi, ehlezi nendoda iminyaka eyisikhombisa kusukela ebuntombini bakhe;

37 Futhi wayengumfelokazi owayengaba neminyaka engamashumi ayisishiyagalombili nane, owayengemi ethempelini, ekhonza ngokuzila ukudla nangokukhuleka ubusuku nemini.

38 Naye wayemi ngaso leso sikhathi, wayivuma iNkosi, wakhuluma ngayo kubo bonke ababelindele ukukhululwa eJerusalema.

39 Sebeqedile konke ngokomthetho weNkosi, babuyela eGalile emzini wakubo eNazaretha.

Njengoba sesibonisile, indikimba eyinhloko ka-Lukaukuthuthukiswa kokuqonda. Ngokuvumelana nalesi sihloko, kuyafaneleka ukuba isenzakalo esilandelayo senzeke ethempelini. Ngalesi sikhathi lesi senzakalo isiko lokuhlanjululwa okwakuvame ukwenzeka ezinsukwini ezingamashumi amane ngemva kokuzalwa. Kodwa kungakhathaliseki ukuthi isimo sethu sinzima kangakanani, noma ukuthi izilingo zethu zinzima kangakanani, kusenendawo ethulile ezinhliziyweni zethu elindela uNkulunkulu ngesineke. Lolukholo lufanekiselwa umprofethikazi u-Ana, lowo, njengoSimeyoni, uyiswa ethempelini ngaso kanye leso sikhathi. Ngemva kweminyaka eyisikhombisa eshadile, wahlala engumfelokazi iminyaka eminingi. Manje, eneminyaka engamashumi ayisishiyagalombili nane, akakaze asuke ethempelini. Kunalokho, ukhethe ukuhlala ethembekile, “ekhonza uNkulunkulu ngokuzila ukudla nangokukhuleka ubusuku nemini” (Luka 2:37).

Kuyaphawuleka ukuthi bobabili uSimeyoni no-Ana bakhangwa ngesikhathi esisodwa ethempelini. 40. Wakhula umntwana, waba namandla kuMoya, egcwele ukuhlakanipha; futhi umusa kaNkulunkulu wawuphezu kwaKhe.

41 Abazali bakhe baya eJerusalema iminyaka ngeminyaka emkhosini wePhasika.

42 Kwathi eseneminyaka eyishumi nambili, baya eJerusalema njengomkhuba womkhosi.

43 Seziqedile izinsuku, ekubuyeni kwabo, umfana uJesu wasala eJerusalema, uJosefa nonina bengazi.

44. Kepha bethi ungomunye walabo ababehamba nabo, bahamba uhambo losuku, bamfuna phakathi kwezihlobo nabazana nabo;

45 Kodwa bengamtholi, babuyela eJerusalema, bemdinga.

46 Kwathi emva kwezinsuku ezintathu bamfumana ethempelini ehlezi phakathi kwabafundisi, ebazwa, ebabuza.

47 Bonke ababemuzwa bamangala ngokuqonda kwakhe nezimpendulo zakhe.

48. Bambona bamangala; unina wathi kuye: “Mntanami, usenzeleni lokhu na? Bheka, uyihlo nami besikufuna sidabukile.”

49 Wathi kubo: “Beningifunelani na? Beningazi yini ukuthi ngimelwe ukuba kokukaBaba na?”

50. Kepha bona kabaliqondanga izwi alikhuluma kubo.

51 Wehla nabo, wafika eNazaretha, wabalalela; unina wawagcina onke lawa mazwi enhliziyweni yakhe.

52 UJesu wakhula ekuhlakanipheni, nasekukhuleni, nasemuseni kuNkulunkulu nakubantu

Njengoba le ndaba iqhubeka, ulimi lwemibhalo engcwele lubonisa ukukhula kancane kancane kukaJesu kusukela “eMntwaneni” (Luka 2:12), “kuMntwana uJesu” (Luka 2:27) “kuMfana uJesu” (Luka 2:43). Esiqeshini esilandelayo, sithola ukuthi “uMfana onguJesu” useneminyaka eyishumi nambili ubudala. Abazali bakhe bamthathile bamyisa ethempelini eJerusalema ukuyogubha umkhosi wePhasika: “Kwathi eseneminyaka eyishumi nambili ubudala, bakhuphukela eJerusalema njengomkhuba womkhosi.”Luka 2:42).

Kodwa lapho uJosefa noMariya behamba, futhi kakade sebesendleleni ebuyela ekhaya, bathola ukuthi uJesu wayengekho kubo. Eqinisweni base behambe uhambo losuku lonke ngaphambi kokuba babone ukuthi uJesu ulahlekile.
