That the Lord put off all the maternal in the sepulchre, and rising therefrom, glorified Himself, and that for this purpose did He die, is evident from the Lord's reference to the seed cast into the earth, how first it dies. [John 12:24.] Also He said to the woman that she should not touch Him now because He had not yet ascended to the Father. For in the sepulchre all such [as came from the mother] had to be dissipated.
