26 And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the forces, arose and came to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.

Verse 26. And thus the men of the church in various states, as well as their leaders, experience a change of state, relying on natural light alone, and seeking instruction thence. For they fear to trust truths falsified by the love of dominion.
