10 Προτερον δε κατωκουν εν αυτη οι Εμμαιοι, λαος μεγας και πολυαριθμος και υψηλος το αναστημα, καθως οι Ανακειμ·

Verse 10. This region of the mind was occupied in former states by false persuasions derived from hereditary evil, of a character that perverted all the goods and truths in the soul, and deeply rooted in the mind, like all the ideas derived from self-love.
