41 And take the Levites for me-I am Yehowah-instead of all the firstborn among the sons of Israel; and take the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the cattle of the sons of Israel.

Verse 41. And at. the same time with the acknowledgement that all charity or love which is the essence of faith, is entirely from the Lord, Who alone is life itself; and that, therefore, charity is really the firstborn, spiritually, and this not only as to interiors, but also as to exteriors, with the man of the church.
