4 that Jehovah may confirm his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, If thy sons take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee, said he, a man upon the throne of Israel.

Verse 4. For it is, eternally, the dictate of Divine Truth, from Divine Love, concerning the spiritual church or state, that it should be succeeded by the celestial church or state, provided the man of the church shall, first from a sense of holy fear, and secondly from the affection of truth, live in obedience with all the power of the will and understanding conjointly.
