29 In his days hath Pharaoh-Nechoh king of Egypt come up against the king of Asshur, by the river Phrat, and king Josiah goeth out to meet him, and he putteth him to death in Megiddo, when he seeth him.

Verse 29. Notwithstanding, however, the depraved natural man rises up against the enlightened rational faculty of the man of the New Church, and is opposed by the faith and life of that Church; and, when the natural man prevails, the church is vastated by falsity from evil in the extremes.
