22 ויען המלך שלמה ויאמר לאמו ולמה את שאלת את אבישג השנמית לאדניהו ושאלי לו את המלוכה כי הוא אחי הגדול ממני ולו ולאביתר הכהן וליואב בן צרויה׃

Commentarius in hunc versum

Verse 22. But by influx and consequent perception from celestial good in the church, it is now manifested that no such conjunction can exist: since self-love would then have dominion, this being prior, as to human experience; and, moreover, the result would be, that not only would self-love rule internally, but also corrupted celestial good, and falsified truth, inducing spiritual bondage, would govern externally.
