18 Or if he smite him with a hand weapon◦ of wood, by which he could die, and he die, a murderer is he◦; the murderer dying shall be put·​·to·​·death.

Verse 18. Or again, he who wilfully and forcibly does injury to another by persuading that good is meritorious, because selfish love desires reward, is guilty and brings upon himself vastation.
