38 besides the sabbaths of Jehovah, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your voluntary offerings, which ye give to Jehovah.

Verse 38. Besides the most general or universal state; the acknowledgement that good is from the Lord; that man may be confirmed in truths; and that the worship of the Lord must be altogether from a state of freedom in ascribing all good to Him.
