17 ויעל בעשא מלך ישראל על יהודה ויבן את הרמה לבלתי תת יצא ובא לאסא מלך יהודה׃

Verse 17. Because those who seek knowledge and demand truth separate from and opposed to charity, exalt intellectual pride, thus preventing the exercises of charity, and also the conjunction of faith therewith.
