13 For all the firstborn are mine; on the day when I killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified all the firstborn in Israel for myself, both man and beast. They shall be mine; I am Yehowah.

Verse 13. Because faith proceeds from the Lord through charity, when, by the work of redemption faith without charity is exterminated; then faith conjoined therewith is sanctified with the man of the church both as to Internals and Externals, all good being from the Lord; and the Lord alone being good itself.
