The New Christian Bible Study Corporation ("NCBSC," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and we are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy (the "Privacy Policy" or "Policy").

This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our website: (our "Website"), our "Swedenborg Reader" mobile application (our "App"), or establish a user account (the "Account") to access additional features on the Website.

We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of other websites that you visit through a link on our Website or App.

1. Information We Collect About You and How We Process That Information

We collect several types of information from and about the users of our Website and/or App, including the following information:

(a)  User Account. When you create a user account on the Website, we collect the following information about you – your name and email address. We may also ask our Account holders to voluntarily provide additional information, such as phone number, personal mailing address, occupation, religious affiliation, interests, and the like (all collectively, "Personal Information" or "Personal Data").

Account holders may edit their profile at any time to change, add, or remove Personal Information.

We process your Personal Information for user administration, to deliver user benefits to you, to inform you of NCBSC-related events, content, and other benefits or opportunities associated with your NCBSC account. NCBSC may also use this information to help understand our users’ needs and interests to better service the NCBSC user community, including contacting you for voluntary participation in the NCBSC surveys conducted by the NCBSC or third parties.

NCBSC relies on consent (and explicit consent, where applicable, per Article 9 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter referred to as "GDPR")) and fulfillment of contract as the lawful basis under Article 6 of GDPR for processing users’ Personal Information.

(b)   Purposes for processing your data. As explained above, the NCBSC processes your data to provide you with the goods or services you have requested or purchased from us, including account services. We use this information to refine our goods and services to better tailor them to your needs and to communicate with you about other services the NCBSC offers that may assist you in you. Most of the time, the NCBSC needs to process your Personal Information to fulfill a user request. Sometimes, the NCBSC relies upon your consent, in which case we will keep a record of it and honor your choices.

Other times the NCBSC has a legitimate interest in processing data to better understand the needs, concerns, and interests of NCBSC users so the NCBSC can operate optimally as an association, such as:

4. NCBSC Communications

You may opt-out of receiving promotional email communication from us by sending us an email at info@newchristianbiblestudy.org or by logging into your Account and modifying your communication preferences. You will not be able to opt-out of transactional email communication, such as communication related to your Account, billing/payment, etc.

5. Your California Privacy Rights

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside third parties your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information regarding disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Transferring Personal Information (Personal Data) from the EU to the US

The NCBSC is established and headquartered in the United States. Information we collect from you will be processed in the United States. The United States has not sought nor received a finding of "adequacy" from the European Union under Article 45 of GDPR. The NCBSC relies on derogations for specific situations as set forth in Article 49 of the GDPR. In particular, the NCBSC collects and transfers to the U.S. Personal Information (or otherwise referred to as Personal Data, see above) only: with your consent; to perform a contract with you; or to fulfill a compelling legitimate interest of the NCBSC in a manner that does not outweigh your rights and freedoms. The NCBSC endeavors to apply suitable safeguards to protect the privacy and security of your personal data and to use it only consistent with your relationship with the NCBSC and the practices described in this Privacy Policy. The NCBSC also enters into data processing agreements and model clauses with its vendors whenever feasible and appropriate.

(iii) who else outside the NCBSC might have received the data from the NCBSC;

(b)  Correct (rectify) the record of your Personal Data maintained by the NCBSC, if it is inaccurate.

(c)  Request that the NCBSC erase that data or cease processing it, subject to certain exceptions.

(d)  Request that the NCBSC cease using your data for direct marketing purposes, if applicable.

Reasonable access to your Personal Data will be provided at no cost to you upon request made to the NCBSC at info@newchristianbiblestudy.org. If access cannot be provided within a reasonable time frame, the NCBSC will provide you with a date when the information will be provided. If for some reason access is denied, the NCBSC will provide an explanation as to why access has been denied.

7. Data Processing and Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your Personal Information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers.

Your Personal Information is stored by the NCBSC on the servers of the cloud-based database management services the NCBSC engages, located in the United States. The NCBSC retains data for the duration of the user’s business relationship with the NCBSC and for a period of time thereafter to allow users to recover accounts if they decide to renew, to analyze the data for NCBSC’s own operations, and for historical and archiving purposes associated with NCBSC’s history as a account association. 9. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our Privacy Policy on our Website, App, by sending you an email notification, or any other method prescribed under applicable law.
