40 Et surrexit Semei, et stravit asinum suum : ivitque ad Achis in Geth ad requirendum servos suos, et adduxit eos de Geth.

Verse 40. So that the love of approbation, misled by the reasoning of the natural man, comes into a state of faith without charity, and makes the good and truth of the church subordinate to self-love.
